Web Application Developer
Velir Studios (http://www.velir.com) is seeking a full time Web Developer/Programmer with strong .NET/C# skills. We create very large, dynamic, web-based applications for high profile, primarily non-profit clients.We are located in the heart of Davis Square, offer a relaxed but passionate work environment, and you will be working with a group of project managers, designers, and clients to build innovative, highly functional, dynamic web-based applications.
We are looking for a candidate who will thrive in a team environment, has the ability to tightly manage time and project responsibilities, and will contribute beyond the strict scope of the job definition.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
* BS in Comp Sci or equivalent.
* 1+ years experience implementing web applications.
* Strong skills programming in ASP.NET with the ability to pick up new languages and environments quickly.
* Strong SQL skills.
* Experience with MS SQL Server
* Experience with Sitecore CMS a very strong plus.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
* Work with the client and development team to spec out project requirements.
* Work with a team of designers and developers to build, implement, and deploy complex web applications.
* Assist with project planning, cost and time estimation, testing, and system documentation.
* Have the desire and ability to work with a wide range of tools and technologies.
* Quickly pick up and learn new languages and environments.
* Communicate with project managers regarding the progress of open items and work with other developers and contractors as needed.
* Manage the development and production infrastructure and application security.
* Work with existing code to modify and enhance application functionality.
