Parenting Resource Associates, Inc. has an immediate opening for a COMPASS Community College Collaborative Site Coordinator/Self-Sufficiency Coach as part of the COMPASS for homeless families program.

Job Description
This 25 - 30 hour a week position (possibility to expand to 40 hours per week in the fall 2008 or winter 2009) reports to the Executive Director (serving as interim Director of COMPASS for homeless families) and includes the following responsibilities:
• Be the lead COMPASS staff member at a Community College (to be determined, but most likely will be Roxbury Community College or Middlesex Community College in Lowell)
• Collaborate with Community College staff
• Carry a “Self-Sufficiency Coaching” case load of 15 – 20 homeless or formerly homeless mothers – continuing for a minimum of one year
o Includes crisis management and advocacy
• Lead one or more self-sufficiency workshops per week
o Adapt curriculum as needed to address participants’ needs
o Engage guest presenters for specific topics
• Coordinate COMPASS staffing at site including:
o Workshop leaders
o Self-Sufficiency Coaches
• Serve as liaison to shelter and housing organizations
o Attend program information sessions;
o Conduct Outreach and Intake
o Maintain ongoing communication
o Crisis management
• Manage program information and data in collaboration with the PRA staff

QUALIFICATIONS
Motivated, energetic individual with related experience.
• Passion for working directly with homeless women to advance their self-sufficiency
• Direct or related experience preferred
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Enthusiasm about COMPASS mission
• Proven ability to meet multiple deadlines, balance numerous projects, and work independently.
• Flexibility and ability to work collaboratively and productively in a dynamic, change-driven, and informal environment.
• Technology competency, including email proficiency
• A Masters degree is preferred, but not essential
• Experience working with substantially disadvantaged populations
