We are two academics -- one a French-American sociologist, the other a French-Greek sociologist, both in our 30s, fluent in French, living in Somerville -- and we recently agreed that (a) we don't speak in French enough, and (b) we'd like to discuss politics and society (American, French, and otherwise) more with 1-3 other fellow French social scientists, historians, or other academics.
We're thinking of meeting over coffee, drinks, or dinner once in a while, perhaps regularly, say once a month or so, as we collectively prefer.If you're interested, please tell us more about you -- your academic discipline, your work, research/teaching interests, how long you've lived in the US, etc.
