We are working with a well-funded, young company in the Boston, MA area to fill the critical position of Senior Engineer on the Search Technology team.This company is building unique products used by wireless customers.
Job Profile:
The Search Software Engineer is responsible for implementing Java algorithms in support of a large-scale, high-availability search engine focused on the mobile platform.The candidate must have a strong background in both server-side Java and relational databases and will have developed and deployed highly available applications using Tomcat and Apache.Projects will include crawler improvements, data feed handling, relevancy algorithms, analytics, performance optimization, and collaborative filtering.
Required:
•Bachelors degree and3-6 yrs Java programming with solid OO design skills
•Java server-side development essential, with strong understanding of memory & thread management
•Strong experience with JSP, Java Servlets, and JMS
•Relational database skills (MySQL preferred)
•Experience with emerging technologies and frameworks such as Hibernate and Spring
•Experience delivering solutions targeted to mobile devices preferred (WAP/WML/XHTML, small device nuances)
•Demonstrated facility with scripting language such as Perl, Python, or PHP
•Knowledge in Linux
•Excellent communication skills
