Creation of this position is warranted in light of the School’s planned summer 2008 expansion in conjunction with the fall opening of the MATCH Middle School and other projects that will require an increase to the MATCH staff. The successful candidate, who will report to the Controller, will be responsible for the efficient and effective execution of all human resource applications of a not-for-profit entity that presently employs approximately 70 individuals. By fall 2011 the size of the employee roster is expected to double, and (by design) greater than 50% of the workforce changes annually. Upon being staffed the Director of Human Resources will immediately become an integral position in a dynamic and exciting urban educational environment. Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Process new employees as to their addition to payroll, enrollment in benefits, etc., Prepare and submit bimonthly payroll. Respond to employee inquiries on payroll- and employment-related matters. Maintain and assure the completeness of personnel files. Assist in selection of and serve as first point of contact to payroll service. Prepare and maintain personnel manuals for various segments of the workforce. Prepare various HR-related analyses, as required, in conjunction with year-end audit, workers compensation coverage audit, and other regulatory examinations. Prepare Form 1099s for independent contractors. Coordinate annual review and renewal of health insurance and other benefit arrangements. Conduct in-house training on various subjects for new and existing employees in order for MATCH to comply with laws and regulations. Monitor federal and state payroll- and employment-related regulations to assure compliance and that MATCH avails itself of advantageous programs and opportunities. Investigate and report to management on personnel-related issues and initiatives as required. Preference will be given candidates with skills and experiences in accounting, bookkeeping, development, grant compliance, grantwriting, or general administration that could be utilized in the business operations of the school. The MATCH School is a small, rigorous charter public high school that serves 220 Boston teenagers and employs 70 individuals. The MATCH Middle School will open in the fall with 90 students and 25 employees.
