The Metrowest IHN is a cooperative interfaith partnership offering hope to homeless families with children through safe transitional shelter, meals and and supportive case management as they seek permanent housing. We are seeking an enthusiastic, outgoing and compassionate individual to coordinate and manage the day to day operations.

Job Objective
To manage the day to day operations and to coordinate the program components of the Metrowest Interfaith Hospitality Network including the host congregations, volunteers, referring and supporting agencies, hospitality (day) center, and transportation, for the effective provision of services to homeless guests.
To manage the intake screening, comprehensive case management, assessments/referral, housing assistance and group work to assist homeless families to become self-sufficient. This position is also responsible for assisting with program development and implementation.

Responsibilities
•Provide case management to all guest families. Respond to referrals and conduct intake assessments with prospective families.Assist in providing case management, developing individual service plans, making referrals and coordinating services.Meet with guests to monitor their progress.

•Manage all aspects of the Network including schedules, service delivery and safety standards to assure a smooth operation.

•Communicate regularly with referring and supporting agencies and the hospitality center staff. Actively participate in providers’ groups and other social service agencies in an effort to identify affordable housing.

•Organize and schedule transportation including driverand van maintenance.Manage schedule changes and any other transportation matters.

•Develop close working relationships with participating congregations and their clergy and volunteer leadership.Provide support and technical assistance in all areas of host and support congregations’ set up and program implementation, including recruitment and training volunteers, logistical preparations and smooth transition between congregations and conduct volunteer training for each host congregation thereafter.

•Plan Network Committee agenda and convene the Network Committee of all host and support congregation coordinators on a quarterly basis.

•Maintain statistical records of the clients that come through the network for funding purposes.Provide monthly statistics to Board and yearly statistics to the national office.

•Hire, train, supervise and manage all full and part time support staff necessary to conduct the daily operations.

•Set up and participate in the after hours call system for emergencies

•Assist in the development of the operating budget.Monitor the budget to control expenses.Record all revenue coming into the program. Coordinate appropriate Board committees operating needs and revenue sources. Development improvement and replacement plans for budgeting purposes.

•Coordinate master schedule of host congregations, updating as necessary to reflect ongoing changes.

•Represent the Network to the public and media as appropriate and in coordination with Board Public Relations Communications.

•Assist the Board in fund raising activities and appearances as needed.

•Maintain reporting relationship to Board Chair, providing monthly summary on operations and relevant issues

•Attend Board meetings upon invitation, provide program report and work with members or sub-committees as necessary.Attend community-based meetings to build and maintain a relationship with area agencies.

•Attend Sunday evening host site transition each week to connect with the coordinator, reinforce the support of the congregation in addition to the individual rules and guidelines of the host site, and fully represent the Network at the host site every week.

•Responsible for volunteer appreciation and recognition events




Requirements

Qualifications: Organized, enthusiastic individual with good judgment and compassion for others. Individual must be independent, self-motivated, reliable, passionate about our mission with a tolerant spirit to interact with a variety of local faith-based congregations. Background should include management experience and demonstrated ability to interact with congregations, volunteers and agency representatives. Position requires a valid driver’s license.

Education and Experience
•B.A. degree with background in human services or related field: M.S.W .preferred
•Three or more years experience in a social service environment (including case management) and knowledge of community services.
•Experience in organizing, supervising and managing a nonprofit program, employees and volunteers.
•Experience with fundraising and grant writing

•Counseling skills: ability and experience in counseling clients in a social service setting
•Communication skills, oral and written: ability to make presentations to large groups
•Planning and organizational skills: ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
•Interpersonal skills: ability to work effectively with a wide range of people
•Leadership skills: ability to make decisions, solve problems, delegate tasks and responsibilities
