Alright. I’ve put together a group to play dominoes once a week. You might think dominoes is a game for old people. Or a game for little kids. But if you've been to Miami, or know anything about Cuban culture, then you know dominoes is much more than that. Dominoes is loud. Boisterous. A game to be played among friends. With beer. Cigars. Exclamations. Profanity - but you get the picture. Being from Miami, I get the chance to play whenever I visit, but frankly, three or four times a year wasn't enough. It was time to bring this game to the North, to get some cool people together who don't mind a rowdy time, knocking back a bunch of suds and doing something different. Thus the Mission Hill Domino Authority was born. After ten months, games have become weekly, hosted at a laid-back pub in Mission Hill. With quality pizza, 140+ beers, and right on the Green Line - you can't go wrong. As for those who play: all of us are under 30, most of us are domino beginners, and we all love to drink. Most of us are out of college, some are in grad school, many of us work. Almost all of us are looking to meet new people, try something new, etc. But enough sales pitch. You now know the facts. We play again next week, so if you're interested, simply respond and you'll get the details. Also, the Boston Globe did a write-up on us last spring. You can check it out here:
