MAJOR GIFTS FUNDRAISER: Coordinator of Corporate Relations and Major Gifts Looking for the right person – one who loves a fast paced environment and thrives on raising money for great causes – to support Parenting Resource Associates’ (PRA) continued growth and mission success Position Responsibilities and Challenges This 25 hour a week position, with the option of expansion to full-time in September 2008, will report to and work closely with the Executive Director, be a member of PRA’s Senior Staff (of 6), and be an integral part of a growing Development Team, as PRA grows its Development operation. For PRA to continue to grow its services and revenues at approximately 50% a year, building a top-notch Development Team is of critical importance. The Coordinator of Corporate Relations and Major Gifts will hold shared responsibility for: nurturing and expanding Corporate Relations and Major Gifts portfolios; Sponsorship recruiting for fundraising events; and working on all aspects of the Development operation. Major Gifts/Events goal for this year is $300,000 (total budget of $600,000) and will increase to $500,000 - $600,000 for fiscal ’09. The Coordinator of Corporate Relations and Major Gifts will have specific responsibilities as follows: Corporate Relations: Help grow a solid, data-based program of corporate solicitation, support, and stewardship. • Manage and solicit some of current portfolio of Corporate supporters • Identify, engage and solicit new Corporate partners • Ensure excellent stewardship – phone, written reports, publicity, press • Appropriate data management • Staff Corporate Events Major Gifts: Help grow a solid, data-based program of major gift prospects, solicitation, and stewardship • Manage and solicit some of current portfolio of Major Gift supporters • Identify, engage and solicit new Major Gift supporters • Ensure excellent stewardship – phone, written reports, publicity, press • Appropriate data management • Plan and staff Private Events Events/Sponsorship: • Research and engage sponsors for PRA’s major public fundraising events • Help ensure overall success of events Development and Communications Team • Member of Development and Communications Team, working with the Executive Director, Director of Operations, and Communications/Events Coordinator • Help develop and implement an annual development and communications plan • Collaborate on data management, budgets, and intern assignments QUALIFICATIONS • Passion for non-profit fundraising • Direct or related experience preferred – not essential • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Enthusiasm about PRA’s mission • Proven ability to meet multiple deadlines, balance numerous projects, and work independently. • Flexibility and ability to work collaboratively and productively in a dynamic, change-driven, and informal office environment. • Technology competency, including email proficiency • A college degree is preferred, but not essential • Corporate and private foundation grants experience a plus TO APPLY Applications will be reviewed as received.
