Thanks for taking the time to read this.I am a Graduate student in the Visual Arts Program at MIT.
I am designing a performance for the day of Friday May 16th for my final project.I am not sure of thetime right now, but somewhere between 10:00 and 5:00 on that day
The work itself will be an illustration of a very simplified version of life.The performance will last about 20 minutes.I need 4 models/actors to sit in a specially designed church-like structure.The actions of the perforance will be for the actors to get up and out of the structure and collect objects that are falling from the top of the structure (the piece is whimsical, so if you are not getting a complete visual of what it is, that is fine)Each actor will be nude except for a blindfold (which I might make translucent, so you can see a bit), but the idea is that each character is blind and this is demonstrated in their movements.
I am looking for four people that can commit to the piece.I will pay $50 each for the performance on friday, but I would like the commitment to come more from wanting to be part of the piece, than the money.
The work would entail, a initial meeting to talk things through (maybe we could all get together for that) and then a dry run the a couple of nights before, and then the 20minutes of the performace on friday.
I am looking for actors of any background (race, sex, age, body shape,tattoos, etc) but must be comfortable being nude in front of an audience while blindfolded (or somewhat blindfolded)
The audience will be about 25 people (students and faculty of the program)
There will be photo and video documentation of the piece, and it will end up in my protfolio and on my website.
