Vehicle was purchased brand new for $25,610 in June of 2000 and then I bought the car directly from the original owner in 2005. The car runs well, has never been in an accident, and the body and interior are in very good shape. Preventive and standard maintenance has been performed every 2,000 to 6,000 miles throughout the lifetime of the vehicle (see below for complete maintenance record).
State inspection has lapsed, as a Boston-area Chrysler dealer recently inspected the vehicle and determined that the car needs an evap canister & pump for ~$635 and a power window regulator for ~$348. The car is otherwise in very good shape and passed a 27-point dealer inspection. The maintenance quoted here is from Kelly Jeep/Chrysler and is for all new parts and labor needed to pass inspection. You may find that the work can be done for considerably less at a local mechanic or with used versus new parts.
The vehicle was lightly used over the past 3 years as it was purchased jointly by me and my roommate for weekend errands and the occasional trip. After three years in the Back Bay our lease is coming due and were looking to sell the car in order to split its equity (neither of us will need a car going forward). The car is free of any liens and we are selling it as is and at an attractive discount to value.
The car has seen a mixture of indoor garaging and private parking during its life in the Back Bay, so it has been spared the abuses associated with public street parking. Parking is expensive in these parts, so were looking to sell before we need to renew our spot for the month of April. This has put us in a forced to sell position, and were hopeful someone will take advantage quickly and enjoy the car for years to come.
